A few words from Co-Artistic Director Lee Pham
Welcome to Enter the Shadow: The Life of a B-boy.
I'll tell you this: This was not easy. Creating this piece speaks to exactly what a life of a b-boy is like. It's about hustling and working hard to get where we need to be, but at the same time loving every moment in the process. I think all the characters have a piece of me in them. I hope that you enjoy the show as much as we have enjoyed creating it, and that you really get the message we are trying to deliver. Special thanks to everyone involved. It would have been downright impossible without the fantastic team behind it. I feel honoured to have had the opportunity to work with such talent.
A few words from Co-Artistic Director Jon Reid
Our journey as artists and creators is not to paint simply what we see - but how it could be seen, and what the possibilities are beneath the layers we observe everyday. B-boying is so much more than a dance; it is part of a much larger culture that nurtures community and creativity. We hope this production provides new insights and dialogue in authentic hip-hop culture and encourages dancers to find new space to create and express their art-form through utilizing the rich history and traditions of this dance.
